Regular lawn cutting keeps your lawn looking its best. Service includes cutting, trimming and edging (all walkways, driveways and garden edges). After service, blowing is performed to clean up any debris and grass clippings are hauled away.
To keep your lawn looking green and healthy we use the best fertilizers available. Fertilizing should be done when the grass is dry and should then be watered thoroughly. To ensure an even application, we use a fertilizer spreader. We offer anything from one time applications to seasonal programs.
Lime is an important soil conditioner that helps your lawn absorb fertilizer and deter moss from growing. Lime does not kill moss, but does neutralize the pH of the soil making fertilizer applications more effective. Lime should be applied in the Spring and again in Fall.
Aeration is one of the best things you can do for your lawn. Aeration breaks up compacted soil by extracting 1” plugs of earth. This stimulates root growth and improves drainage. The nutrient-rich plugs are left on the lawn where they break down over the following weeks, acting as a natural fertilizer. Aeration can be done either once or twice per year, either in the Spring or in the Fall.
Over time, your lawn can accumulate a layer of slowly decomposing grass stems, roots and debris called thatch. We use commercial power rakes to pull that thatch up at the soil level allowing your lawn room to grow and reseed itself. We then rake up the debris and mow over the lawn to pick up any remaining debris. Power raking is best done Spring or early Fall.
